Gavel travels to White Hills

In September the long awaited return of the Chairman’s Gavel finally happened when it recently made a surprise appearance at Longton Lodge after its stay with Old Huttonian Lodge over the summer.

The WM of Longton Lodge WBro Ian Duncan presented it to Leyland St Andrews Lodge No 7391 at its installation where it has since graced the centre of WBro Dave Bishop and his wife Sharon’s breakfast bar.

On the chilly night of November 18th,. Six Brethren from Leyland St. Andrews Lodge accompanied their Worshipful Master Bro. David Bishop whilst visiting White Hills Lodge No 5209.

The visiting members of Leyland St. Andrews were very warmly welcomed into White Hills lodge by their Worshipful Master Mark Humphrey. Here the brethren of both lodges together then enjoyed a superb evening of good ritual, friendship and excellent hospitality. During the meeting everyone was treated to a superb rendition of a third degree ceremony for the raising of Brother Matthew White.

When the ceremony was complete and the lodge closed, members and visitors alike retired to the dining room where at the festive board, Dave Bishop presented Mark Humphrey with the Chairman’s Travelling Gavel.

In the next month Mark will now choose another lodge in the Leyland and District Group to visit, he will of course take with him five members of White Hills lodge, to pass the Gavel on in its continuing journey around the Group.

We hope they enjoy their visit as much as we enjoyed visiting White Hills.
