MacMillan big coffee morning

The Ladies Social Committee of Leyland St Andrew’s Lodge No 7391, in conjunction with Emma Lockwood from Wellington Park, decided to hold a Coffee Morning as part of the Macmillan World’s Biggest Coffee Morning. The event took place on 26 September 2014 as it did across the country.  Together they hosted a very successful morning and in the process raised a total of £560 plus any Gift Aid for Macmillan.

Some of the cakes were provided by Glover’s Bakery, others by good bakers amongst the committee. Joyce Heyes’ scones are now legendary! Sponsorship towards some of the costs was provided by Centaur Training Service (North West) Ltd and fantastic support was provided by Wellington Park. Alongside the coffee and cakes, there was a raffle, various Macmillan games. Stalls had been provided by Adore Beauty, Stella and Dot Jewellery and Sparkle Daze, all of whom donated raffle prizes. The Little

Photography Studio donated a raffle prize and Sophie was on hand to capture the event with her trusty camera. Thanks go to all those who supported the event by turning up, donating prizes, simply donating or attending and spending money while you were there.

The Ladies’ Social Committee are now actively organising their next charity event which will be held on Tuesday 24 March 2015. The details of the event are still being kept under wraps so watch out for a big announcement later in the year and save the date. Whatever form the event takes, it will be good fun and will raise funds for Miles of Smiles, a local charity run totally by volunteers so all the money raised will be spent on local children who need a smile bringing into their lives.
