There were approximately 70 members attending the coffee morning in October which followed the Leyland Masonic Fellowship’ Birthday lunch. The organisation has been formed for 30 years and every current member got a birthday present. Many members came for a chat and to play some of the competitions which had been organised for the day.
There was a competition to ‘Name the Teddy Bear’ which was won on the day. There was also a jar of sweets which was won by Mary Noblet when she guessed the number in the jar. Ivy Porter provided a cake which was won by Don Dixon for guessing the weight, whilst a ‘Bring and Buy’ stall was run by David Lloyd and Joyce Rickard. A cake stall was organised and run by Rita Walker and Brenda Hayton with Joyce Snape running the raffle.
Also, on the day LMF were pleased to welcome the Chairman from Accrington Masonic Fellowship with his wife.
The funds raised will help to allow us to pay guest speakers and entertainers for the fortnightly meetings.
The Christmas Lunch has been organised for 12 noon and as usual will be at Wellington Park. This event is only open to members; we will be having a raffle and the entertainment will be provided by Clayton le Woods Women’s Institute Choir. The lunch usually finishes by 4pm.
