Leyland Lights first night out

What a cracking night it was too…

The opening night social gathering of the Leyland Lights had been organised as a night for staying in. Well, the ‘night in’ was sat in a lodge room listening to a masonic based lecture finished off with a hotpot supper and all washed down with a few drinks of the members favourite tipple.

Mike Pinckard delivering his lecture

The lecture was ‘Preparation of the Candidate’ and it was expertly presented by the Leyland Group Vice Chairman, Mike Pinckard. Mike had volunteered to give the presentation knowing that the new light blue club would be looking for an opener and he spent quite some time amending a lecture which he had prepared and delivered on numerous occasions previously. There were 18 members present on the night representing most of the lodges in the Group which also included all of the committee members.

The evening was deemed a success and all members present on the night had enjoyed the evening and vowed to encourage the other members in the group who had been unable to attend. A number of the attendees made new friends on the night having never met before – result!!

The next event will be a social event and it is to be at Belle Vue dog racing stadium in Manchester.

Please check the Leyland Lights Event page for further details. Early booking is recommended.
