David J. Bishop
Dave was initiated into freemasonry in Roses Lodge No 5140 in the province of East Lancashire in May 1995 where he served in the junior offices. Following his marriage to Sharon in 1997 and being moved due at work, Dave joined Withy Lodge No 7733 at Leyland in October 2000. Dave worked his way through the ranks and was installed as Master on 15th November 2011, a date not easily forgotten for Dave as it is his wedding anniversary!
During his year as IPM, Dave was notified of his impending appointment to Acting Provincial Grand Steward. Dave continued to serve Withy Lodge as Director of Ceremonies until the lodge surrendered its warrant in 2014
Dave is a member of Leyland St Andrews Lodge No 7391 and the Red Rose of Lancashire Lodge No 9640 where he is also the Director of Ceremonies, an often difficult task, especially when you consider the DPrGM and two APrGM’s are members!
Dave became Group Membership Officer in 2014 and conducted the follow ups of the potential members that came by way of the groups community involvement at the local festivals and carnivals in Leyland, Penwortham and Lostock Hall. He was appointed Group Secretary in May 2016.
Dave was advanced into Aeon Lodge of Mark Master Masons No 1312 in February 2015, he was also exalted into the Holy Royal Arch in September 2015, joining Standish Chapter No 4955.
In May 2018, Dave received promotion within Provincial Grand Lodge to the rank of PPrGSuptWks.
Outside Masonry, Dave is a serving Police Officer in Lancashire Constabulary where he works in Operational Driver Training.
Dave is married with two daughters Rachel who is studying Marine Biology at the University of Hull and Lucy who is at Lostock Hall Academy.
