Fellowship bowling competition

This season’s final meeting of Leyland Masonic Fellowship was recently held over at Chorley Subscription Bowling Club, Windsor Road in Chorley. The afternoon’s event was given to a knockout bowling competition which was expertly supervised by Frank Lees and his wife Pam. All participants of the event bowled well and each enjoyed the company and comradery which the Leyland Fellowship has been developed.

This year’s competition was eventually won by partners Des Hatton and Derek Waterworth and there were some 56 members and friends sitting down to a buffet meal prepared by three of the ladies from the committee. At the conclusion of the meal, the winners were presented with a bottle of wine by the fellowship chairman, Cedric McIlwaine, who thanked Frank and his wife for the splendid way the competition was organised and the ladies for their excellent buffet. The afternoon concluded with a raffle, with numerous prizes donated by some of the members of the fellowship.

The chairman reminded everyone that this year’s Autumnal holiday would be to Weston Super Mare, and he encouraged those wanting to go to reserve a place as soon as possible. He is hoping to fill the coach with friends or masons and wives from the Leyland Group – There will only be double or twin-bedded rooms available on this trip.

Please contact the Group’s Fellowship Chairman for further details.
